Robert Montgomery is a 1974 graduate of the University of Kansas School of Architecture. His expertise and experience afford him the ability to offer a variety of design services to each of his custom home clients.

The selection of the building lot plays a major role in the cost of your custom home building project. Size, shape, slope, elevation, frontage, orientation, soil conditions, drainage, easements and existing vegetation can place restrictions on custom designs and affect the construction cost. Montgomery assists custom home clients in determining if a prospective site is a good choice for their new home project.

Working in cooperation with talented architects from several of Kansas City’s finest architectural firms, Montgomery assists with the planning of each custom home project as a design consultant. In providing insight with regard to the practical construction applications for various design elements, Montgomery helps to insure that each custom home plan meets the needs and desires of the prospective homeowner while monitoring the effect that specific options have on the construction budget.

In addition to beautifully integrating decorator concepts and materials selections with the architect’s schematic design, Montgomery provides complete interior architectural detailing of all cabinetry, doors, windows, trim, interior moldings, fireplace mantels, masonry patterns, special wood floor and tile floor patterns, and interior and exterior lighting.
